Compass Compression is a privately owned company, three owners and the CFO make up our executive team. This team has more than 70 years of direct gas compression experience, second to none in the industry and works closely with our management team and directly with customers, giving us the flexibility to respond and adapt quickly to customer requirements and changing market demands.
John Forgeron, P.Eng. - President
John Forgeron joined Compass Compression as an owner and Vice
President in March 2005. Three years later, after having established
three successful, privately financed, oilfield rental companies,
he became President.
As President, John amalgamated the aforementioned group of companies
to create the Compass Compression of today. This merger assisted
Compass and gave us the ability to grow through a significant
industry downturn (2008 - 2010).
John has been in the gas compression industry since 1991. Before joining Compass Compression, he held engineering and/or
sales positions at Imperial Oil Operations, Enerflex Systems Ltd
and Toromont Industries.
Phil Ness got his start in the gas compression industry in 1984. He worked through
several positions including shipping and receiving, sales, design,
project management and the assembly of compression equipment,
including reciprocating, rotary screw and vane compressors.
Phil’s ‘hands-on, make it happen’ approach
helped Energy Industries bring the first rotary screw to market
and sell their very first Ariel compressor.
Phil’s experience also includes working at Toromont Industries,
Cherco Barber, Eagle Pump & Compressor and Mandem Inc. Phil
joined Compass Compression as an owner and Vice President Reciprocating Products
in 2005 and has since expanded his role to Vice President, Operations.
Scott Douglas joined Compass Compression as an Owner and Vice
President of Sales in February 2008.
Scott began his career in 1990 as an applications engineer.
He has since held sales management positions with Enerflex Systems
Ltd. and Toromont Industries, both domestically and internationally.
Leaving the larger companies behind, Scott is excited to redevelop
and grow with Compass ensuring customer response, fulfillment
and satisfaction remains first and foremost. This, he says, only
comes from delivering upon expectations, not merely creating them,
as is far too often the case within the industry.
Doug Eger joined Compass Compression in May 2011 in the newly created position of Chief Financial Officer. Doug has over twenty years of experience in strategic planning, structuring financing, raising capital, financial management and reporting. Most recently Doug was the CFO of a public oilfield service company engaged in the transportation business and prior to that held senior financial roles in the packaged goods and communications sectors.
Doug is a Chartered Accountant and is committed to support Compass in developing best-in-class financial reporting and stewardship processes to support growth.
